Count The Cost (“Count The Cost,” “we,” “us”) provides bookkeeping software for small businesses, churches, nonprofits, contractors, and other service-based organizations. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We treat all financial information you store with us as highly sensitive.
We do not sell your personal or financial information. We do not show third-party advertising in the product, and we do not use your financial records to target ads.
Your data is stored in a managed Postgres database with row-level security that isolates each organization’s records from every other tenant. Access is governed by least-privilege controls, traffic is encrypted in transit, and sensitive operations are recorded in an audit log. No system is perfectly secure, but protecting your financial data is a core design priority.
We share data only with service providers that help us run the product (for example, our cloud hosting and database provider), each bound to protect it, and where required by law. If your firm invites team members or accountants to an organization, those users can access that organization’s records according to their assigned role.
Because accurate, durable financial records matter for your books and your compliance, we retain your records for as long as your account is active. You can request export or deletion of your data as described below; note that some records may be retained where required to meet legal, tax, or audit obligations.
To exercise any of these, contact us at countthecostai@gmail.com.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the product.
